Everything you need to know about your assets

“I couldn’t ever be a size zero. I have a butt, I have boobs and I have a woman’s curves _ there is no way I’d see them go to zero.”

Buttocks are an important contribution to a woman’s allure and sensuality. Shapely, round buttocks can make the waist and thighs appear smaller, bring the upper torso into more pleasing proportion, putting across a youthful appearance. Stick-thin women belong to reel world, runways or the cover of fashion magazines but ask any man in the real world about what constitutes a woman’s sexiness, and more often than not, you will be told that they like a woman’s curves. People everywhere are wild about beautiful rears and the very feminine inward sweep of the lower back, hips, and waist. A well-shaped derriere is just so bootylicious, and unless yours is of perfect shape and free of cellulite and stretch marks, it needs your attention.

HOW CAN I ENHANCE THE SIZE MY BUTTOCKS?

One common way to increase the size of your buttocks is to inject fillers. Among commercial fillers, Hyaluronic acid is the safest, but you’ll need a lot of it, which can prove to be very expensive and it doesn’t last long. So I wouldn’t recommend it. A better option is to inject your own fat instead of using fillers. This can be done by extracting excess fat out of another part of your body such as the stomach area, purifying it and then injecting it into the buttocks to get a desirable size. This is almost like a fat transplant, the same thing we commonly do to increase breast sizes. Fat injection can last approximately one and a half years to even three years if you’re lucky. Some part of the fat always remains, so over time and with more treatments, more permanent fat accumulates, and eventually you may not need more fillers. This treatment is quite expensive, usually costing over 100,000 baht. The exact price depends on how much you have to fill in. Possible side effects for fat injection include infection, bleeding and other surgical side effects.

WHAT CAN BE DONE TO TIGHTEN THE BUTTOCKS?

For buttocks tightening, there are temporary machines like radio frequency and muscle stimulation machines that work like exercises. These machines tighten the whole skin temporarily. For longer lasting results, you’ll need to do radio frequency tightening every couple of weeks and three to five times before you can eventually reduce to once every three months. Thermage can also tighten and firm up the skin, but even this needs multiple treatments. It should be done every couple of weeks about 10 times before you can reduce it to once every three months. Skin tightening treatments mentioned above don’t have any real side effects. The results can be seen immediately, so you can just come before going on a beach holiday, or whenever you need it.

I HAVE STARTED TO SEE SIGNS OF CELLULITE IN THIS REGION. WHAT CAN I DO TO REMOVE IT?

The buttocks are especially susceptible to cellulite because this region is mostly made up of fat cells. Every woman, after 20, will start having cellulite. It begins with what we call “grade 1 cellulite”, which means you only see it when you squeeze the area. It’s when you get older that you start seeing a higher grade of cellulite. The best way to delay cellulite is with a balanced diet and exercise. Cosmetically, multiple machines are available for this but the popular one at the moment is Vella Shape II. This machine uses Bi-Polar Radio Frequency and Infrared Light plus tissue mobilisation combined with suction to treat both the deeper tissue, offering a measurable reduction in fat layers, circumference and the upper layers of the skin, resulting in cellulite reduction. It’s a non-invasive and comfortable deep therapeutic treatment. So not just is Vella Shape II good for cellulite but it also firms it up and reduces butt circumference. Each treatment will cost you a few thousand baht and the results are immediate.

FINALLY, WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND FOR STRETCH MARKS?

Stretch marks occur when certain layers of the skin cannot keep up as quickly with new growth, such as weight gain or pregnancy, and thus appear as lines beneath the skin. If your stretch marks are not all that bad, then tightening machines like radio frequency and Thermage will help _ but if it’s worse then you have to consider doing laser resurfacing or fillers. Resurfacing is quite permanent; unless you gain and lose weight like a yo-yo then it may come back. If done properly, there are no side effects and the cost is about 10,000 baht or more per sitting.
